Everything on this page is generated by the same model that powers the whole site: five-component Fantasy Ratings blended with expected goal involvement, projected over upcoming fixtures. Captain picks are ranked by our captaincy model, which starts from each player's projected points and corrects them for form, set-piece duty, ownership and transfers; transfer targets by value score (projected points per million); differentials are capped at £6.5m and 10% ownership. The tips are set once a week, when the previous gameweek is over and the new projections are in. If an international break leaves them more than eight days old they are set again, so they cannot disagree with the projections and FPL fixture difficulties the rest of the site shows. Otherwise, before the deadline a pick changes only when FPL rules the player out, and the page says who replaced him; from the deadline they hold until the gameweek is over, so the page keeps saying what the model advised before squads locked - no hot takes, and the full methodology and three-season backtest are public on the methodology and accuracy pages.
