The Fantasy Rating condenses a player's FPL value into a single number. Under the hood it is five separate performance components - goal threat, assist threat, defensive solidity, saves, and defensive contribution - updated after every match a player features in, then blended by position. Because it measures actual FPL output rather than reputation, a £5.5m midfielder on a scoring streak can out-rate a big name coasting on last season. As a rough guide: 70+ is a starter, 80+ is premium territory, and 90+ is the elite tier that usually justifies captaincy.
The filters are built for the two questions every manager asks: who is the best player I can afford? and who is good that nobody owns? Filter by position and price band to answer the first; add an ownership ceiling (say, under 10%) to answer the second. Sorting by projected points over the coming gameweeks rather than raw rating bakes in fixture difficulty, which is usually what separates two similarly-rated picks. When you're down to a shortlist, put them side-by-side in the player comparison tool, and check price-change momentum before you pull the trigger - full scoring details are on the methodology page.
