Gameweek8

GW8's best possible squad: projected 57.1 pts, £99.6m, 4-4-2 The best possible squad is the highest-projected legal FPL squad for the week: 15 players, £100.0m at current prices, three per club, the best eleven with the captain doubled. It is picked fresh each gameweek.

An FPL team rating measured against real managers' squads

Most FPL team raters look at your squad and guess how good it is. This one ranks it. We add up your squad's projected points over the next six gameweeks - your best eleven each week, with the best captain doubled - and set that total against a sample of real, active FPL managers' squads scored the same way. Your score out of 100 is the share of managers you beat, and your grade runs from S, the pace of a top-50,000 finish, to D. The projections are the ones the predicted points table and the team planner use, and each gameweek's best possible squad is on the pitch.

How to raise your FPL team rating

The gap between your squad and the best possible one is usually a few players who are not projected to play, an expensive player on a poor run of fixtures, or a captain choice. Open your squad in the team planner to plan transfers several gameweeks ahead from projected points and fixture difficulty, then come back to see your rating climb.

Frequently asked questions

How does the FPL team rater grade my team?
It takes your current FPL squad and adds up its projected points over the next six gameweeks: your best starting eleven from your 15 each week, with the best captain doubled, on the same projections our planner uses. Then it ranks that total against a sample of real, active FPL managers' squads scored the same way over the same weeks, so easy and hard fixtures, blanks and doubles count the same for everyone. Your score out of 100 is the share of those managers you beat, and your grade (S to D) comes from it.
What do the grades mean?
Each grade is a season pace. S beats 94% or more of managers over the six gameweeks, the pace of a top-50,000 finish. A beats 88-93%, top-250,000 pace. B beats 80-87%, top-million pace. C beats 50-79%, above average. D beats fewer than half. Your score out of 100 is simply the share of managers you beat: 95 means you beat 95% of them.
Why does it say likely between two grades?
Because it is a projection, and projections miss. We know from testing our model on past seasons how far a player's projected points over six gameweeks typically miss what he scores. The range shows the grades your squad would earn if its projection were that far too low or too high. A squad of the same players most managers own moves with the field and gets a narrow range; a squad of differentials gets a wider one.
What is the best possible squad?
The highest-projected legal FPL squad for each gameweek: 15 players (2 goalkeepers, 5 defenders, 5 midfielders, 3 forwards), at most three from one club, within £100.0m at today's prices, with the best starting eleven and the captain scoring double. It is picked fresh for each week from that week's projections, so it shows what the week makes possible.
